When and where will Odyssey Literary Festival 2024 take place?

Odyssey Literary Festival 2024 will take place on Friday 25 October at The Capitol (113 Swanston Street Melbourne).

Doors will open at 12:00 pm and will close at 8:30 pm.

How long will events run for?

Each of the on-stage events will run for approximately 50 minutes. We also have several all-day events running at the Foyer and Salon which you can interact and engage with.

Where can I find the full festival program?

A full festival program is available here. A schedule overview is also easily found with a quick click of a button near the top of the page.

Will catering be available at the festival?

Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase in the Foyer. The Capitol is also located near several quick-dining options along Swanston Street, which guests can visit for food on any of the day’s scheduled breaks.

FREE tickets are available here. Bookings are essential. 

How can I get to the festival?

The Capitol is located at 113 Swanston Street, opposite Melbourne Town Hall. There are several ways you can get to The Capitol:

Travelling by car

Limited paid parking spaces are available on Russell Street, Exhibition Street and surrounding streets. A number of accessible parking spaces are available on Little Collins Street and surrounding streets.

Larger paid public car parks are within walking distance including the Federation Square car park. A map of City of Melbourne public parking can be found here: Where to park | City of Melbourne

Travelling by tram

The Capitol is accessible by tram on routes 11, 12, 48 and 109 (Stop 6: Town Hall/Collins St is the best stop for these routes).

The venue is also accessible on routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64 and 72 (Stop 11: City Square/Swanston St is the best stop for these routes).

Travelling by train

The Capitol is an approximately 5-minute walk from Flinders Street station or Melbourne Central station.

You can also take any tram travelling along Swanston Street from these stations and exit at Stop 11: City Square/Swanston St.
